There are many local amenities including the neighbouring Radha Krishna Temple Shyama Ashram. Bhakti Shyama Care Centre is spiritually cultivated to provide dedicated care to Gujarati residents. This is the only care centre in the country providing this very specialised care services for Gujarati community. The Home can care for 46 service users, in single rooms, all of which have en-suite wet rooms.
During this period my own nan passed away and the project became ever more pertinent. Our residents also have kitchenettes in their bedrooms if they wish to prepare something themselves or spend quiet time with family and friends. We also enrich the lives of our residents by supporting them to celebrate key religious festivals from the comfort of their residential home. For example, we capture the vibrant and traditional festivities in the Gujarati calendar, welcoming an array of dancers and musicians from across Lambeth and Greater London through the doors.
Aashna House is a fantastic mix of both worlds and within these four walls is a home rich with Asian heritage and culture. This beautifully maintained home is designed and furnished to create a feeling of relaxation and homeliness. The comfortable spaces include our bedrooms, which have contemporary interiors and are decorated to a high standard.
The local mobile library has a mix of both audio and paper books meaning residents can enjoy their favourite stories in a variety of media. This home is purpose-built and offers cosy retreat from the hectic capital. The lawns and pond are an oasis of calm amongst a busy area and residents can find plenty of space to enjoy a drink of their choosing. Whether it’s participating in an activity or socialising with friends and relatives, residents will find ample locations around the home to accommodate this. There are also quiet spaces for those who want to relax or read a book. When a new resident arrives they’ll be met by their key carer, who’ll give them a guided tour of their new home.
All rooms have telephones and TV channels, including Asian TV. The home includes 3 floors, with each floor having a dedicated Care team to ensure continuity of care. Sai Ram Villa has a variety of areas for our service users to enjoy, including 4 lounges, 3 dining areas, a pray and silence room, a hair salon, and pamper therapy room. Access to our garden is from the Lounge area on the ground floor. Our landscaped garden has been designed to give quiet private areas, as well as larger spaces for social activities. There is also a terrace garden leading out from the first-floor dining room.
Our traditional values are highly regarded, providing care with true compassion and dignity to meet our residents’ residential and dementia care needs. We also embrace and support their cultural and spiritual needs, ensuring the care we provide reflects these as much as their physical needs and enriches their lives. Our dedicated and caring team, who provide residential, dementia and adult respite care, speak several Asian languages, with each staff member fluent in at least one Asian language. Excellent communication is so important to us, so our care home is an inclusive and welcoming place that residents can truly call home. This care centre provides 24-hour nursing and dementia care for the elderly. The home is located in a residential street and conveniently served by public transport.
Popular favourites are their regular Ladies Afternoon and knitting group. Family and friends are invited to come and join us for parties, birthday celebrations and more. Every meal they serve has to be something they’d be proud to present to their nearest and dearest at a special family gathering. My engagement with an Indian elderly care home in Leicester spanned over a period of two years. I would travel to Leicester from London and often spend a number of days at the home speaking to and interacting with the residents, all of whom wanted some company.
However, following huge demand from people we supported, in the year 2007, NLAC was registered with CQC to provide regulated activity of personal care. Since then, we have been supporting vulnerable adults in and around Enfield with wide range of services. Their boutique residential care home offers 48 comfortable rooms, each with its own private wet room, coupled with round-the-clock care for people living with dementia. EnhanceAble Space is a small residental home located in New Malden, with capacity to house six residents. The care home caters for younger and elderly adults including people with learning disabilities. The residency also cares for residents with physical disabilities and sensory impairment.
We offer sitting services to engage service users while their carers get some respite. Our care staff assist service users with all their personal care needs, such as toileting, washing, bathing, dressing/un-dressing, etc. There’s plenty of seating on the terrace, with cheerful parasols, so residents can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Their lawns and gardens feature a pond with a fountain and provide a peaceful place to relax with a seat or a stroll.
